This is a photo of me last week (below), feeling frustrated and sad about the unintentional harm done by healing “protocols.”

You are a unique individual with a unique history, susceptibilities, and strengths.

Yet protocols, by nature, disregard your individuality. Too many women share with me that they feel worse (or even develop new challenges) following protocols that are restrictive, definitive, authoritative, and narrow in focus.

I know how uncomfortable and debilitating symptoms can be. I also know that healing THROUGH and WITH our symptoms requires a shift in how we relate to them, how we experience them, and how we think about them.

Our culture typically views symptoms as dysfunctions of the body or mind or as an interference to be avoided. They aren’t seen the way homeopaths see them; that is, as the adaptive, often necessary, healing responses of our Vital Force.

Curiosity and Judgement Rarely Co-Exist

This idea keeps coming up in my work, my conversations, and my life. And when something keeps coming up, I turn towards it (and get curious about it).

Curiosity ignites spaciousness, flow, openness, and flexibility. Judgment closes, limits, shrinks, and suppresses. Routine judgment of ourselves and others diminishes our vitality.

Also: the tendency to judge may be a signpost of diminished vitality, because judgment often arises from a place of fear and self-protection (and we don’t thrive in fear and self-protection). Judgement helps us feel less threatened, temporarily.
